Since 2016, the so-called ‘Ecotasa’ has been in place throughout the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca. This is the equivalent of the visitor's tax in Germany. It is payable by all tourists over the age of 16 and amounts to between €0.55 and €2.20 per person per night, depending on the accommodation and season. As a rule, the Ecotasa must be paid in cash to the landlord on arrival. However, there are also houses where the Ecotasa is included in the price. The price information always indicates whether you have to pay the Ecotasa on arrival.
